If you've ever heard people say poker is all about luck, they haven't really played it properly. Yes, there's an element of chance in every round — you can't control which cards come out on the table. But over the long run, players who understand the odds, know when to bet big and when to fold, and can read their opponents will consistently outperform those who play randomly.
This is what makes poker uniquely compelling compared to other casino games. At a baccarat or roulette table, you play against the house. At EzWin poker, you play against other players — EzWin only takes a small rake as a service fee. That means if your skill level is above the average at your table, you have a long-term edge.
The EzWin poker platform is built with Malaysian players in mind. The interface is fully in Bahasa Melayu, buy-ins start as low as RM5 at the micro tables, and tables run 24 hours without interruption. If you're a Texas Hold'em fan who plays with friends on weekends and wants to try an online table for the first time, EzWin's NL10 table is the right place to start — no pressure, no intimidation.
For more experienced players, EzWin offers Omaha and high roller tables that are rarely found on other platforms in Malaysia. Omaha is the most popular poker variant after Texas Hold'em at the global level — players receive four hole cards instead of two, leading to bigger pots and greater strategic depth. EzWin's PLO (Pot Limit Omaha) tables attract players who have outgrown Texas Hold'em and are looking for a higher level of challenge.
Tournament poker at EzWin gives you the chance to turn a small buy-in into a sizeable prize. Our Sunday Major Tournament guarantees a minimum prize pool of RM50,000 every week — meaning the prize is there regardless of player turnout. Those who make it to the final table can walk away with anywhere from RM8,000 to RM15,000 or more, depending on total entries.
All poker sessions at EzWin are guaranteed fair through a Random Number Generator (RNG) system independently verified by a third party. Your account data is protected with 256-bit SSL encryption. Read Privacy Policy us for more information.
Each poker variant has its own rules and strategy. Click a tab to learn more about each game type.
Texas Hold'em is the most widely played poker variant in the world and forms the foundation of nearly every prestigious poker tournament globally, including the World Series of Poker (WSOP). At EzWin, the Texas Hold'em tables are the most active and consistently draw the highest number of players at any given time.
How it's played: each player is dealt two private hole cards that only they can see. Five community cards are then revealed in stages on the table — three at once (the flop), one more (the turn), and a final card (the river). Your goal is to make the best five-card combination using any mix of your hole cards and the community cards. Players bet at four stages: pre-flop, flop, turn, and river.
What makes Texas Hold'em compelling is that it's easy to pick up but incredibly deep strategically. A beginner can grasp the basic rules in 15 minutes, yet professional players are still learning and evolving after years at the table. EzWin offers Texas Hold'em in No Limit (maximum bet = all your chips), Limit (fixed bet sizes each round), and Pot Limit formats.
The weakest position — you act first before you have any information about your opponents.
Middle position — you have some information from early-position players, but there are still players yet to act.
The Button is the best position — you act last on all post-flop streets.
Each player's hole cards: 2 cards
Community cards on table: 5 cards
Stakes: 4 levels
Best format: No Limit (NL)
Suitable for: All levels
EzWin tables from: RM0.05/RM0.10
Omaha is the second most popular poker variant in the world and is often the go-to choice for players who are comfortable with Texas Hold'em and want a greater challenge. The key difference from Hold'em is that each player is dealt four hole cards instead of two.
An important Omaha rule: you MUST use exactly two cards from your four hole cards and exactly three cards from the five community cards to make your best hand. This differs from Texas Hold'em, where you can use any combination. Because of this rule, hands that look strong in Texas Hold'em may be weak in Omaha — and vice versa.
Omaha is typically played in Pot Limit format (PLO), where you can only bet up to the current pot size. This prevents all-in situations from happening too frequently and requires you to calculate pot values on the fly. EzWin's PLO tables start from RM0.50/RM1 and go up to RM5/RM10 for high roller tables.
Each player's hole cards: 4 cards
Community cards on table: 5 cards
Required: Exactly 2 hole cards
Best format: Pot Limit (PLO)
Suitable for: Middle position player
EzWin tables from: RM0.50/RM1
Omaha Hi/Lo (also known as Omaha 8-or-Better) is an Omaha variant where the pot is split between two winners — the "high" winner with the best standard hand, and the "low" winner with the lowest qualifying hand (eight or below).
To qualify for a "low" hand, you need five cards all ranked 8 or below with no duplicates. Aces count as 1 for low hands. The best possible low hand is A-2-3-4-5, known as the "wheel". If no player holds a qualifying low hand, the entire pot is awarded to the high hand winner.
Omaha Hi/Lo is the most complex variant in EzWin's poker lineup, but it also offers exciting opportunities for players who know how to compete for both halves of the pot at once. Going for the "scoop" — winning both the high and low halves — is the ultimate goal in every Omaha Hi/Lo hand.
Each player's hole cards: 4 cards
Pot winner: High + Low (split)
Low hand requirements: 5 cards ≤ 8, no pair
Format: Pot Limit
Suitable for: Experienced players
EzWin tables from: RM1/RM2
Short Deck Hold'em (also known as 6+ Hold'em) is a Texas Hold'em variant played with a 36-card deck — all cards ranked 2 through 5 are removed. This dramatically shifts the odds for every hand and requires you to rethink your entire baseline Hold'em strategy.
In Short Deck, hand rankings shift slightly: a flush beats a full house because with only 36 cards in the deck, making a flush is harder than making a full house. Straights are also easier to hit, so their value drops a little. An Ace can count as a 5 to complete the straight A-6-7-8-9 — the lowest possible straight in Short Deck.
Short Deck at EzWin plays faster and more aggressively than standard Texas Hold'em — with a smaller deck, every player has a higher chance of landing a strong hand, which leads to bigger bets and more exciting confrontations. Perfect for players who prefer a faster-paced game.
Deck size: 36 cards (6+ through A)
Hole cards: 2 cards (same as Hold'em)
Hand ranking differences: Flush > Full House
Format: No Limit
Suitable for: Intermediate+

Memorise these combinations before you sit down at an EzWin poker table. These are the fundamentals you need to know.
Five consecutive cards from 10 to Ace in the same suit. The strongest possible hand in poker.
Five consecutive cards of the same suit. The second strongest hand after a Royal Flush.
Four cards of the same rank (quads). Extremely strong and rarely beaten — only a straight flush beats it.
Three cards of the same rank combined with a pair of matching cards in a single hand.
Five cards of the same suit, not in sequence. The highest card determines the winner in a flush vs. flush situation.
Five consecutive cards of mixed suits. An Ace can be high (A-K-Q-J-10) or low (A-2-3-4-5).
Three cards of the same rank (trips or a set). A strong hand in many situations, especially when the community cards do not form a straight or flush.
Two different pairs in a single hand. The higher pair determines the winner when two players both hold two pair.
Two cards of the same rank. The most commonly seen hand in Texas Hold'em.
No combination — your hand is ranked by its highest card. Ace-high is the strongest high card hand.
This isn't a magic formula — it's the fundamental principle that separates profitable players from those who consistently lose over the long run at EzWin poker tables.
Most beginners play way too many hands. Be patient and only play strong hands from the right position. AA, KK, QQ, and AK are premium hands — raise with them every time. Fold 72 offsuit even if you have a feeling it might get lucky.
The button is the strongest position in poker — you act last on every post-flop street. This gives you information on all your opponents before you make a decision. From the button, you can play a much wider range of hands compared to early position.
Before calling any large bet, calculate the ratio between the call amount and the pot size. If you need to pay RM20 to win a RM100 pot, your pot odds are 5:1. Compare that against your drawing odds — if your draw odds are better, call. If not, fold.
In EzWin online poker, you can't see your opponent's face — but you can read their betting patterns. A player who consistently check-folds on the flop is showing weakness. One who suddenly fires a big bet after the river either has a strong hand or is bluffing — track their patterns throughout the session.
Tilt happens when emotions affect your poker decisions following a bad beat or a losing streak. A tilting player tends to bet aggressively without reason and ends up losing even more. When you feel your emotions starting to cloud your judgment, take a break for at least 15 minutes.
Never sit at a table where the buy-in exceeds 5% of your total poker bankroll. If your bankroll is RM1,000, the highest table you should play is NL50 (RM50 buy-in). This ensures you can weather bad variance without running out of funds to keep playing and improving.

"I've been playing poker for over 4 years, mostly home games with friends. When I first tried EzWin's online poker, I was a bit nervous — mainly worried about whether the games were fair. But after a few months, I'm convinced the system is clean. You can view your hand history and review results anytime. Now I actually prefer EzWin because I can play whenever I want without having to round up 8 people first."
"The EzWin Sunday Major Tournament has become a weekly ritual for me. RM110 buy-in with a guaranteed RM50,000 prize pool — the value is genuinely exceptional. I've made a final table before, finishing 7th for RM1,200. What I love most is that you can start at the micro tables, build your skills, move up the stakes, and enter major tournaments — all on the same platform. Rakeback hits every Monday too, so it never feels like you're just donating to the house."
"I've been playing PLO (Omaha) at EzWin for the past 8 months. Their PLO100 tables are active around the clock and you'll find opponents of all skill levels. Deposits via DuitNow are ready in under two minutes. Withdrawals are just as smooth — funds arrive within 10 minutes at my Gold VIP tier. My only wish is for more buy-in options at the PLO tables. But overall, the experience has been genuinely positive."
